Laghujātaka (लघुजातक) or Laghujātakasūtra the name of a work classified as literature dealing with astronomy, astrology, divination, medicine. The Laghujātaka-sūtra (in Sanskrit, with Vṛtti) is included in the collection of manuscripts at the ‘Vincenzo Joppi’ library, collected by Luigi Pio Tessitori during his visit to Rajasthan between 1914 and 1919.—There are 12 chapters, which are clearly marked in the manuscript by internal colophons. [...] Thee Laghujātaka-sūtra is a classic work by the astronomer Varāhamihīra. But in the chapter-colophons found at the end of chapter 1, 2, 4 and 5 Bhaṭṭotpala is given as the author.
