Source: archive.org: Shiva Purana - English TranslationKuveṣa (कुवेष) refers to one “of indecent dress”, and is used by the evil-minded Dakṣa to describe Śiva, according to the Śivapurāṇa 2.2.29. Accordingly as Brahmā narrated to Nārada:—“[...] Dakṣa on hearing those words of his daughter looked at Satī cruelly and said thus to her. Dakṣa said:—‘[...] Knowing Śiva to be of indecent dress (kuveṣa) and features, my dear daughter I did not invite him to the sacrifice in the presence of gods and sages.’”
