Kulāya (कुलाय).—

1) The nest of a bird; कूज (kūja)न्तकपोतकुक्कुटकुलाः कूले कुलायद्रुमाः (ntakapotakukkuṭakulāḥ kūle kulāyadrumāḥ) Uttararāmacarita 2.9; N.1.141.

2) The body; त्वदनुपथं कुलायमिदमात्मसुहृत्प्रियवत् (tvadanupathaṃ kulāyamidamātmasuhṛtpriyavat) (carati) Bhāgavata 1.87.22, प्राणेन रक्षन्नवरं कुलायम् (prāṇena rakṣannavaraṃ kulāyam) Bṛ. Up.4.3.12.

3) A place or spot in general; विश्वंभरकुलाये तं न पश्यन्ति (viśvaṃbharakulāye taṃ na paśyanti) Bṛ. Up.1.4.7.

4) A woven texture, a web.

5) A case or receptacle.
