Kṣīravarga (क्षीरवर्ग) refers to the “section on milk” according to the last verse 5.42 of the Aṣṭāṅgahṛdayasaṃhitā (Sūtrasthāna) by Vāgbhaṭa.— Accordingly, “[...] Milk and ghee coming from cows (are) the best; disapproved of, however, (are those) originating from sheep. Such (is) the section on milk [viz., kṣīravarga]. [...]”.
