Krauñcapadī (क्रौञ्चपदी).—A holy place. He who makes oblations of balls of boiled rice in this place will obtain remission of sin of Brahmahatyā (sin incurred by killing a Brahmin). (Mahābhārata Anuśāsana Parva, Chapter 25, Stanza 42).
