Source: Shodhganga: New look on the kushan bengaliKotasur in Birbhum district is an excavated site revealing Kushan presence.—Kotasur is situated in the Mayureswar police station of Birbhum district on 23°58' north and 87°46'east, 5 miles northeast from Sainthia Railway Junction, on the Mayurakshmi river valley. The Department of Ancient Indian History, Culture and Archaeology, Visva-Bharati University, Santiniketan excavated this place under the direction of N.C.Ghosh, Arun Kumar Nag, associated by Kapil Muni in the year 1986- 87.
