Koraṇṭapura (कोरण्टपुर) is possibly idintified with Korṭā.—According to the Prabhāvaka-caritra (Prabhāvakacarita), Koraṇṭapura was a prosperous town inhabited by rich people who were devoted to their religion. This town remained a place of pilgrimage in medieval times also. Megha, Śīlavijaya and Jñāvimalasūri describe this place in their Tīrthamālās. The people of this place led Saṃghas to holy places. Koraṇṭa-gaccha originated from this place
