空色 [kong se]—Emptiness and Form—[Technical Term (術語 [shu yu])]
The formless (無形 [wu xing]) is called emptiness (空 [kong]). That which has form (有形 [you xing]) is called form (色 [se]). The Prajñāpāramitā Hṛdaya Sūtra (般若心經 [ban ruo xin jing]) states: "Form is emptiness, emptiness is form." Chapter Five of Mohe Zhiguan (止觀 [zhi guan]) says: "When a golden probe pierces the membrane, emptiness and form become clearly manifest."
空色—【術語】無形曰空。有形曰色。般若心經曰:「色即是空,空即是色。」止觀五曰:「金錍抉膜,空色朗然。」
[shù yǔ] wú xíng yuē kōng. yǒu xíng yuē sè. bān ruò xīn jīng yuē: “sè jí shì kōng, kōng jí shì sè.” zhǐ guān wǔ yuē: “jīn pī jué mó, kōng sè lǎng rán.”
[shu yu] wu xing yue kong. you xing yue se. ban ruo xin jing yue: "se ji shi kong, kong ji shi se." zhi guan wu yue: "jin pi jue mo, kong se lang ran."
