kōṇḍamāra (कोंडमार).—or -mārā m (kōṇḍaṇēṃ & māraṇēṃ) Shutting up in a confined place and beating. Gen. used in the laxer senses of Suffocating or stifling in a close room; pressing hard and distressing (of an opponent) in disputation; straitening and oppressing (of a person) under many troubles or difficulties.
