Source: CBSE: Chemistry in IndiaKoṣṭhiyantra (कोष्ठियन्त्र).—A type of specialized instrument used in an alchemical laboratory (rasaśāla).—The koṣṭhi-yantra, for the extraction of ‘essences’ of metals, consisting of two rimmed vessels, with fire urged from above and a side blower; besides the metals, the vessels would be filled with charcoal.
