Source: Wikisource: A dictionary of Sanskrit grammarKhyun (ख्युन्).—Kṛt affix अन (ana) applied to the root कृ (kṛ) in the sense of an instrument when preceded by the words आढ्य, सुभग, स्थूल (āḍhya, subhaga, sthūla) etc. provided the whole word is similar in sense to cvi-formation (च्व्यर्थ (cvyartha)), e.g. आढ्यं करणम्, सुभगंकरणम् (āḍhyaṃ karaṇam, subhagaṃkaraṇam); cf. P. III. 2.56; fem. आढ्यंकरणी (āḍhyaṃkaraṇī), cf. नञ्स्नञीकक्ख्युंस्तरुण-तलुनानामुपसंख्यानम् (nañsnañīkakkhyuṃstaruṇa-talunānāmupasaṃkhyānam) P.IV.1.15.Vārttika.
Vyakarana (व्याकरण, vyākaraṇa) refers to Sanskrit grammar and represents one of the six additional sciences (vedanga) to be studied along with the Vedas. Vyakarana concerns itself with the rules of Sanskrit grammar and linguistic analysis in order to establish the correct context of words and sentences.
