khicaḍī (खिचडी).—f ( H) A mixture of rice and split pulse (boiled or unboiled). 2 A medley (as of various grains, of different coins &c.); a farrago, olla podrida, gallimaufry, hodgepodge, lingua franca. 3 A village of which part of the lands are held by dhārēkarī and part by khōta.

Khicaḍī (खिचडी):—(nf) a preparation of rice and pulse boiled together; a mixture, medley; hotch-potch; the festival known as [makara saṃkrāṃti]; (a) mixed; —[alaga pakānā, apanī] to blow one’s own trumpet, to go one’s own queer way; —[bhāṣā] a hotch-potch language; —[khāte pahuṃcā utaranā] to be incredibly delicate; —[pakānā] to hatch a plot, to conspire; —[honā, (bāloṃ kā)] to have a sprinkling of grey hair amongst black.
