khapaṭa (खपट).—n A scale (of a fish). 2 A gold or silver ornament resembling it. 3 Applied to a little cake of bread; as made in a hurry, baked upon the ashes &c. 4 The translator of "England Delineated" has employed this word to express Membrane or coat of the eye. Ex. pakṣī khapaṭēṃ saīla karūna ḍōḷē capaṭē karitāta.
