khiḷaṇa (खिळण).—f (khiḷaṇēṃ) Nailing down; fixing firmly; fastening. More frequently used in the figurative senses following, viz. Detention or confinement (as to the house, the bed, a chair); rigidity of joints or muscles (as by rheumatism); determined sitting at one's door (as of a dun, taskmaster, beggar); dogged persistency (of a child in some request); unyielding importunity; sullen and stubborn hanging back or sitting, in resistance to invitations or to efforts to raise. v ghē, dhara, khiḷaṇīsa yēṇēṃ.
