Keḷanā, (f.) (fr. kilissati? or is it kheḷana?) desire, greed, usually shown in fondness for articles of personal adornment: thus “selfishness” Vbh. 351=DA. I, 286 (+paṭikeḷanā). In this passage it is given as a rather doubtful explanation of cāpalla, which would connect it with kṣvel to jump, or khel to swing, oscillate, waver, cp. explanation Dhtp 278 kela khela=calane. Another passage is Nd2 585, where it is combined with parikeḷanā and acts as syn. of vibhūsanā. (Page 226)
