Kaṭakarṇaka (कटकर्णक) refers to one of the miscellaneous dishes mentioned in the 17th century Bhojanakutūhala (dravyaguṇāguṇa-kathana), and is commonly found in literature dealing with the topics of dietetics and culinary art, also known as Pākaśāstra or Pākakalā.

(Ingredients of Kaṭakarṇaka): wheat flour, bengal gram flour and ghee.

(Cooking instructions): Mix the wheat flour and bengal gram flour with ghee. Make balls out of it with the addition of water. Cook these balls in ghee. The resultant, golden-hued preparation is called katakarṇaka.
