kasaṇēṃ (कसणें).—v c To bind tightly; to draw closely with a rope or cord. See karakacaṇēṃ. Also to draw or grasp forcibly; as tīra kasūna sōḍalā; dhōṇḍā or ṭōlā kasūna māralā. 2 (kaṣa S) To try (gold &c.) on the touchstone. 3 fig. To examine closely and rigorously; to sift; to cross-question; to test or try more gen. Ex. kasōni pāhē rukmiṇīramaṇa || ṭākitō bhajana kāya mājhēṃ ||.
