Source: archive.org: Vagbhata’s Ashtanga Hridaya Samhita (first 5 chapters)Kaphāpaha (कफापह) refers to that which is “dispersive of phlegm”, as mentioned in a verse sometimes added after verse 5.39 of the Aṣṭāṅgahṛdayasaṃhitā (Sūtrasthāna) by Vāgbhaṭa.—Accordingly, “sweet, destructive of hemorrhage, heavy in its digestion, dispersive of phlegm [viz., kaphāpaha], sedative of wind and choler, (and) strongly cooling (is) buffalo’s ghee [viz., māhiṣaghṛta]”.
