As one deaf, or whose ears are closed; i. e. to whom it is not tolerable or expedient to hear what is said about him.) Ashamed, abashed, repressed, silenced, shut up: also awed or cowed (as before one's patron or great benefactor, or one acquainted with our crimes, or one possessing our secrets). Ex. tujasīṃ jhālōṃ mī kā0 || pōśilēṃ piṇḍā || kaśīrē gati mājhī hōīla rāmā || cukalōṃ mī nēmā ||.
