Source: Shodhganga: Temples and cult of Sri Rama in TamilnaduKalicirama is short for Kaliciramavinnakaram, which refers to one of the 108 divyadesas according to Priyavaccan Pillai’s compendium of the Ramayana based on the Nalayirativviyappirapantam.—Kalicirama-vinnakaram takes the name from Rama. The temple is dedicated to Trivikrama (cf. the Cilappatikaram).
The Purana (पुराण, purāṇas) refers to Sanskrit literature preserving ancient India’s vast cultural history, including historical legends, religious ceremonies, various arts and sciences.
