kāḷāunhāḷā (काळाउन्हाळा).—m (The hot season in India from its repressing effect upon the energies of nature, answers to the Winter of temperate climes.) The dire Hot season; i. e. the very height of Hardness of time or straitness of circumstances; the very Winter of one's means and resources. Ex. tū kāḷyāunhāḷyānta paikā māgatōsa majajavaḷa kāya? Lit. kāḷāunhāḷā consists of the months caitra, vaiśākha & jyēṣṭha.
