Shaivism (Shaiva philosophy)

Kālaghna (कालघ्न) or Kālaghnāgama refers to one of upāgamas (supplementary scriptures) of the Rauravāgama which is one of the twenty-eight Siddhāntāgama: a classification of the Śaiva division of Śaivāgamas. The Śaivāgamas represent the wisdom that has come down from lord Śiva, received by Pārvatī and accepted by Viṣṇu. The purpose of revealing upāgamas (e.g., Kālaghna Āgama) is to explain more elaborately than that of mūlāgamas (e.g., Raurava-āgama) and to include any new idea if not dealt in mūlāgamas.

Kālaghna (कालघ्न) or Kālaghnamūrti refers to one of the twelve forms (mūrti) of Śiva mentioned in the Suprabhedāgama: the tenth among the Siddhāntaśaivāgamas. The forms of Śiva (e.g., Kālaghna) are established through a process known as Sādākhya, described as a five-fold process of creation.
