Kaitaṭṭu (கைதட்டு) [kaitaṭṭutal] [kai-taṭṭu] intransitive verb < idem. +.

1. To clap or strike hands together in token of defiance, triumph, derision, admiration, etc.; வியப்பு வெறுப்பு நகைப்பு முதலியவற் றின் குறியாகக் கைகொட்டுதல். கைதட்டி வெண்ணகை செய்வர்கண்டாய் [viyappu veruppu nagaippu muthaliyavar rin kuriyagak kaigottuthal. kaithatti vennagai seyvarkanday] (திருவருட்பா [thiruvarudpa], ii, புறமொழிக். [puramozhig.] 10).
