Source: archive.org: Shiva Purana - English TranslationKailāsanagara (कैलासनगर) or Kailāsa is the residence of Śiva, according to the Śivapurāṇa 2.1.15:—“[...] the five-faced lord Śiva created for His residence the beautiful city (nagara) of Kailāsa that shone above all. O celestial sage, Kailāsa and Vaikuṇṭha will never be destroyed even if the whole cosmic egg is destroyed”.
The Purana (पुराण, purāṇas) refers to Sanskrit literature preserving ancient India’s vast cultural history, including historical legends, religious ceremonies, various arts and sciences. The eighteen mahapuranas total over 400,000 shlokas (metrical couplets) and date to at least several centuries BCE.
