Source: archive.org: Shiva Purana - English TranslationKadrudra (कद्रुद्र) is the name of a deity mentioned the Śivapurāṇa 2.2.41.—Accordingly, as Viṣṇu and others eulogized Śiva:—“[...] obeisance, obeisance to one who is omni-formed and the plentiful; obeisance to Nīla, Nīlarudra, Kadrudra and Pracetas. Obeisance to the most bounteous lord who is pervaded by rays, who is the greatest, and the destroyer of the enemies of the gods”.
The Purana (पुराण, purāṇas) refers to Sanskrit literature preserving ancient India’s vast cultural history, including historical legends, religious ceremonies, various arts and sciences. The eighteen mahapuranas total over 400,000 shlokas (metrical couplets) and date to at least several centuries BCE.
