覺支 [jue zhi]—(Juézhī) — [Technical Term] Discerning the correctness or deviation of mental states (心術 [xin shu]) is called an awakening method (覺法 [jue fa]). Since there is more than one such awakening, it is referred to as a 'limb' or 'factor' (支 [zhi]). The old translation is Bodhi-anga (菩提分 [pu ti fen]), where Bodhi (菩提 [pu ti]) means 'awakening'.

覺支—【術語】覺察心術之偏正,謂之覺法,其覺非一,故云支。舊譯稱菩提分(菩提譯覺)。

From 《史記 [shi ji].卷一一八 [juan yi yi ba].淮南王傳 [huai nan wang chuan]》 (Shǐjì, Volume 118, Biography of the King of Huainan):
「吏 [li],使長安尉奇等往捕開章 [shi zhang an wei qi deng wang bu kai zhang]。」 (Lì juézhī, shǐ Cháng'ān wèi Qí děng wǎng bǔ Kāizhāng.)
The officials (吏 [li]) became aware, and sent Qi (奇 [qi]), the Commandant of Chang'an (長安尉 [zhang an wei]), and others to arrest (捕 [bu]) Kaizhang (開章 [kai zhang]).
From 《五代史平話 [wu dai shi ping hua].周史 [zhou shi].卷下 [juan xia]》 (Wǔdài Shǐ Pínghuà, History of Zhou, Volume Two):
「非尋常行道所由之徑 [fei xun chang xing dao suo you zhi jing],民間皆不 [min jian jie bu]。」 (Fēi xúncháng xíngdào suǒ yóu zhī jìng, mínjiān jiē bù juézhī.)
