To make up one's mind. Yuan Dynasty (元 [yuan]) Yang Zi's (楊梓 [yang zi]) "Yu Rang Swallowing Charcoal" (豫讓吞炭 [yu rang tun tan]), Act 1: "My heart is determined to annex (吞併 [tun bing]) the Zhao clan (趙氏 [zhao shi]). If anyone dares to offer bitter remonstrance (苦諫 [ku jian]) again, they will surely be beheaded (斬首 [zhan shou])." "First Collection of Stories to Strike the Table and Amaze the World" (初刻拍案驚奇 [chu ke pai an jing qi]), Volume 17: "Inside the sedan chair (轎 [jiao]), with every step, she felt a pang of hatred (恨 [hen]). This time, she was determined to ruin (斷送 [duan song]) her son." Also written as "決心 [jue xin] (juéxīn)."

決議 [jué yì] [jue yi]—
1. To make a decision (決定 [jue ding] juédìng) on a discussion (議論 [yi lun] yìlùn). Tang Dynasty (唐 [tang] Táng). Chang Gun (常衮 [chang gun]), "Edict Granting Cui Yuan (崔圓 [cui yuan]) the Post of Left Minister (左僕射制 [zuo pu she zhi] Zuǒ Púshè Zhì)": "Once made decisions (juéyì) in the imperial court (廟堂 [miao tang] miàotáng), and early recorded merits (書勛 [shu xun] shūxūn) in the prince's mansion (王府 [wang fu] wángfǔ)."
2. Any motion (議案 [yi an] yì'àn) that is put to a vote (提付表決 [ti fu biao jue] tífù biǎojué) by the chairman (主席 [zhu xi] zhǔxí), regardless of whether it passes or fails (可否 [ke fou] kěfǒu), is referred to as a "resolution" (juéyì).

決議:1.對議論做決定。唐.常衮〈授崔圓左僕射制〉:「嘗決議於廟堂,早書勛於王府。」
2.凡議案經主席提付表決者,不論可否,即稱為「決議」。
