Source: OpenEdition books: Vividhatīrthakalpaḥ (Kāvya)Jīvaṃtasāmi (जीवंतसामि) in Prakrit (or Jīvantasvāmin in Sanskrit) refers to a “decorated and life-size statue of a Tīrthaṅkara”, as is mentioned in the Vividhatīrthakalpa by Jinaprabhasūri (13th century A.D.): an ancient text devoted to various Jaina holy places (tīrthas).—Note: Originally, the term referred to a statue made during Tīrthaṅkara’s lifetime (Shah 1987 p. 137).
