Live a frugal life and work diligently. From "Lishan Xing" (驪山行 [li shan xing]) by Gu Yanwu (顧炎武 [gu yan wu]) of the Qing Dynasty (清 [qing]): "Virtuous consorts help within, singing at cockcrow; practicing frugality themselves, surpassing ancient times." Also written as "节俭力行 [jie jian li xing]" (節儉力行 [jie jian li xing]).
節儉躬行：生活儉約，做事努力。清．顧炎武〈驪山行〉：「賢妃助內詠雞鳴，節儉躬行邁往古。」也作「節儉力行」。
