極喜三昧耶 [ji xi san mei ye]—Utmost Joy Samaya—[Term] Also known as Joyful Samaya (悅喜三昧耶 [yue xi san mei ye]), Great Samaya True Seal (大三昧耶真實印 [da san mei ye zhen shi yin]), and Surata Great Vow True Seal (素囉多大誓真實印 [su luo duo da shi zhen shi yin]). This refers to the practitioner, having aroused the Bodhi mind and eliminated all obstacles, becoming Vajrasattva (金剛薩埵 [jin gang sa duo]). When contemplating the non-differentiation of self and others as the Great Compassion of Oneness (同體大悲 [tong ti da bei]), one abides in the thought of supreme joy. The Great King of Teachings Sutra (大教王經 [da jiao wang jing]) Volume 1 states: "At that time, the Bhagavan again entered the Great Bodhisattva Samaya of the King of Utmost Joy, and the resulting sattva's empowerment was called Vajra Samadhi, which is the Utmost Joy Samaya of all Tathagatas." The Samantabhadra Recitation Ritual (普賢念誦儀軌 [pu xian nian song yi gui]) states: "One should contemplate thus: My body having become Samantabhadra Bodhisattva, I arouse this mind to enable the boundless realm of sentient beings to achieve liberation. In this samadhi, one contemplates all sentient beings, self and others, as non-different, as the Great Compassion of Oneness." This is what it means. Trailokyavijaya Vidyaraja (降三世明王 [jiang san shi ming wang]) in the Vajradhatu (金剛界 [jin gang jie]) Trailokyavijaya Samaya Assembly (降三世三昧耶會 [jiang san shi san mei ye hui]) abides in this samadhi. Holding the Great Compassion Bow and Arrow (大悲弓箭 [da bei gong jian]) is his fundamental vow. With the bow and arrow of firm and pure Bodhi mind, he shoots the enemy of primordial ignorance (元品無明 [yuan pin wu ming]), generating the great joy (大樂化他之大喜 [da le hua ta zhi da xi]) of transforming others through great bliss, without interruption. This is called Utmost Joy Samaya. If a mantra (真言 [zhen yan]) practitioner wishes to abide in this samadhi, they should form the Great Vow True Seal (大誓真實印 [da shi zhen shi yin]). With both hands in Vajra Binding (金剛縛 [jin gang fu]), the patience and vow fingers (忍願 [ren yuan]) (thumbs) enter the palms and interlock. The four fingers of charity, wisdom, meditation, and intellect (檀慧禪智 [tan hui chan zhi]) (index, middle, ring, and little fingers) are joined together like a single-pronged Vajra (獨般金剛杵 [du ban jin gang chu]). Touch the heart with the patience and vow fingers and recite the mantra "Om Samaya Hūṃ Surata Staṃ" (唵三昧耶斛蘇囉多娑怛鍐 [an san mei ye hu su luo duo suo da zong]). This symbolizes the arrow of great compassion shooting the mind of weariness towards samsara (生死厭離之心 [sheng si yan li zhi xin]). By forming this seal and touching the heart, Vajrasattva pervades one's body and mind, quickly granting accomplishments, fulfilling all intentions and aspirations. 極喜三昧耶—【術語】又名悅喜三昧耶,大三昧耶真實印,素囉多大誓真實印。即謂行者發菩提心,滅除諸障,既為金剛薩埵,觀自他無別,為同體大悲時,自住於無上歡悅之想也。大教王經一曰:「爾時薄伽梵復入極喜王大菩薩三昧耶,所生薩埵加持,名金剛三摩地,一切如來極喜三昧耶也。」普賢念誦儀軌曰:「應作是思惟:我身既成普賢菩薩,發是心,令無邊有情界成就解脫,於此三摩地中觀一切有情自他無別,為同體大悲。」即是也。金剛界降三世三昧耶會之降三世明王,住此三昧。手執大悲弓箭,是為其本誓,以堅固清淨菩提心之弓箭射元品無明之怨敵,大樂化他之大喜,無有間斷。是謂極喜三昧耶。若真言行者欲住此三昧,則結大誓真實印,二羽為金剛縛,忍願入掌而相交合,檀慧禪智四指面,相合如獨般金剛杵,以忍願觸心上,誦唵三昧耶斛蘇囉多娑怛鍐之真言。是表大悲之箭,射生死厭離之心也。由結此印而觸心故,金剛薩埵,徧入身心,速與成就,意欲希望,諸願皆得。又見蓮華部心念誦儀軌,普賢修行念誦儀軌等。

[shù yǔ] yòu míng yuè xǐ sān mèi yé, dà sān mèi yé zhēn shí yìn, sù luō duō dà shì zhēn shí yìn. jí wèi xíng zhě fā pú tí xīn, miè chú zhū zhàng, jì wèi jīn gāng sà duǒ, guān zì tā wú bié, wèi tóng tǐ dà bēi shí, zì zhù yú wú shàng huān yuè zhī xiǎng yě. dà jiào wáng jīng yī yuē: “ěr shí báo jiā fàn fù rù jí xǐ wáng dà pú sà sān mèi yé, suǒ shēng sà duǒ jiā chí, míng jīn gāng sān mó de, yī qiè rú lái jí xǐ sān mèi yé yě.” pǔ xián niàn sòng yí guǐ yuē: “yīng zuò shì sī wéi: wǒ shēn jì chéng pǔ xián pú sà, fā shì xīn, lìng wú biān yǒu qíng jiè chéng jiù jiě tuō, yú cǐ sān mó de zhōng guān yī qiè yǒu qíng zì tā wú bié, wèi tóng tǐ dà bēi.” jí shì yě. jīn gāng jiè jiàng sān shì sān mèi yé huì zhī jiàng sān shì míng wáng, zhù cǐ sān mèi. shǒu zhí dà bēi gōng jiàn, shì wèi qí běn shì, yǐ jiān gù qīng jìng pú tí xīn zhī gōng jiàn shè yuán pǐn wú míng zhī yuàn dí, dà lè huà tā zhī dà xǐ, wú yǒu jiān duàn. shì wèi jí xǐ sān mèi yé. ruò zhēn yán xíng zhě yù zhù cǐ sān mèi, zé jié dà shì zhēn shí yìn, èr yǔ wèi jīn gāng fù, rěn yuàn rù zhǎng ér xiāng jiāo hé, tán huì chán zhì sì zhǐ miàn, xiāng hé rú dú bān jīn gāng chǔ, yǐ rěn yuàn chù xīn shàng, sòng ǎn sān mèi yé hú sū luō duō suō dá zōng zhī zhēn yán. shì biǎo dà bēi zhī jiàn, shè shēng sǐ yàn lí zhī xīn yě. yóu jié cǐ yìn ér chù xīn gù, jīn gāng sà duǒ, biàn rù shēn xīn, sù yǔ chéng jiù, yì yù xī wàng, zhū yuàn jiē dé. yòu jiàn lián huá bù xīn niàn sòng yí guǐ, pǔ xián xiū xíng niàn sòng yí guǐ děng.
