急急如律令 [ji ji ru lu ling]—(jí jí rú lǜ lìng) — This 【術語 [shu yu]】 (shù yǔ), or term, was originally used on official talismans 【官符 [guan fu]】 (guān fú) in the Han Dynasty 【漢朝 [han chao]】 (Hàn cháo). Later, shamans 【巫者 [wu zhe]】 (wū zhě) adopted it as an incantation 【咒語 [zhou yu]】 (zhòu yǔ). Volume 2 of Yǎn Mì Chāo 【演密鈔 [yan mi chao]】 states: "Furthermore, just as with common speech, there are explicit words 【顯言 [xian yan]】 (xiǎn yán) and there are incantations, such as 'Jiji ru he Lüling' and the like, [used] to incant fire to prevent it from burning, or to incant malaria to make it stop. For they are used as incantations, unlike explicit words."
急急如律令—【術語】本是漢朝官符所用者。後巫者以為咒語。演密鈔二曰:「且如此方言言,亦有顯言,有咒語如急急如和律令等,咒火不燒。咒瘧令停,蓋作咒用,不同顯言。」
