An old and decrepit man: also the remaining male of a race. 4 fig. A shrunken and meagre person, a starveling. Ex. hēṃ mūla vāḷūna jhīṭa jhālēṃ. 5 C esp. in the form jhīṇṭa or jhīṭa, A bundle of loppings or of uprooted dry bushes; to be burned over ground. 6 jhīṇa is further A stump (as of candana, gandha &c.) of a thing rubbed or worn to the stump.
