jhāḍakhaṇḍā (झाडखंडा).—a & ad (Like a tree deformed with gaps and blanks and vacancies; and contrad. from jhāḍa ubhēṃ karaṇēṃ, chata bāndhaṇēṃ or bharaṇēṃ &c. q. v.) Consisting of breaks and pauses and jarring intermissions, i. e. inharmoniously discontinuous and disgustingly meagre and jejune--a character of vocal or instrumental performance, or of reciting, reading, speaking. Hence understood by many in the sense of Rudely native; unacquired by lessons from any professor or practitioner. Ex. tyācā bāṇā or bāṇī-gāṇēṃ-vājaviṇēṃ-mhaṇaṇēṃ jhā0 āhē.
