Jayatihuyaṇabālāvabodha (जयतिहुयणबालावबोध) is the name of a work dealing with classical hymns and stotras from Jain literature.—The Jayatihuyaṇabālāvabodha (in Gujarati) is included in the collection of manuscripts at the ‘Vincenzo Joppi’ library, collected by Luigi Pio Tessitori during his visit to Rajasthan between 1914 and 1919.—This is not only a word to word paraphrase of the hymn, the verses of which are quoted in full, but a more extensive commentary which intends to go deeper into the matter at the same time as it explains the words. Verse 1 of the Jayatihuyaṇa and its commentary are on 2v9. The author often takes into account possible questions or objections of an imaginary pupil and provides answers to them. The copyist (or the author of the commentary?), the monk Sāra, explains that he worked at the instigation of his teacher Ratnaharṣagaṇi and gives the lineage of the latter. But no conclusive evidence or chronological clue could be found.
