Jayaṅgoṇḍacholapuram is an archaeologically important site situated in Udaiyarpalaiyam-taluk (Tiruchirappalli district, Madras), known for inscriptions regarding the ancient history of India. For example, at Jayaṅgoṇḍacholapuram there is an inscription in the Tamil language at the lintel of the entrance of the garbhagṛha at the Kalugumalaināthar temple. It states that the nagarattār of Jayaṅgoṇḍaśolapuram endowed a piece of land as kuḍinīṅgādevadāna to god Tirumalaināyanār of the village.

This inscription belongs to king Māravarman Tribhuvanachakravartin of the Pāṇḍya dynasty.
