To have one's fever pass off under eruptions (at the mouth &c.) jara jāṇēṃ Used in imprecations; as tujhē hātāvarūna jara jāū! jara bāndha- ṇēṃ To stop a fever by incantations, by tying amulets &c. jara bharaṇēṃ or hōṇēṃ (To be affected with fever.) To be incompetent, inadequate, unable &c. Used freely both of persons and things, and always in neg. or interrog. con. Ex. dhōtarajōḍyāsa varṣabhara ṭikā- yāsa kāya jara jhālā āhē? tulā cākarī karāyāsa kāya jara bharalā?
