Jālandharapurāṇa (जालन्धरपुराण) is the name of a work by Haradāsa Misaṇa (classified as Rajasthani literature).—The Jālandharapurāṇa (in Marwari) is included in the collection of manuscripts at the ‘Vincenzo Joppi’ library, collected by Luigi Pio Tessitori during his visit to Rajasthan between 1914 and 1919.—The Jālandharapurāṇa sings Śiva’s greatness and his devotion to him through a legend that goes back to the Śivapurāṇa (Rudrasaṃhitā, V. Yuddhakhaṇḍa, chap. 14-25) and is also found in the Padmapurāṇa (VI. Uttarakhaṇḍa 3-18): Jalaṃdhara or Jālaṃdhara was born in the sea from the brilliance of Śiva contained in his third eye. The youth became the emperor of Asuras, was enraged when he was told that the ocean, his father, had been churned, and fought the gods, conquering even Viṣṇu. Only Śiva was able to slain him: [...].
