火印 [huo yin]—The fire sign, for which a triangle pointing upwards is used; a triangular arrangement of fingers of the right hand with the left.
[The following represents an unverified English translation. For all purposes consult the original Chinese text.]
火印 [huo yin]—Fire Seal—[Mudras/Hand Gestures (印相 [yin xiang])] A seal (印契 [yin qi]) for invoking fire. Esoteric traditions (密軌 [mi gui]) consider the shape of fire to be triangular, and thus the two fingers (left and right) are joined to form a triangular shape. This is the Fire Seal. See the Mahākaruṇāgarbha Maṇḍala Recitation Order (胎藏界念诵次第 [tai cang jie nian song ci di]).
火印—【印相】呼火之印契。密軌以火形為三角,故結左右兩指為三角之形。是火印也。見胎藏界念誦次第。
