回馬 [huí mǎ] [hui ma]—
Turn the horse's head (掉轉馬頭 [diao zhuan ma tou]) around, changing the direction (方向 [fang xiang]) of the horse's (馬 [ma]) movement. From the Tang (唐 [tang]) Dynasty, Bai Juyi's (白居易 [bai ju yi]) poem (詩 [shi]) "Thoughts on Returning Home Late" (晚歸有感 [wan gui you gan]): "Turning the horse around, I return alone (獨歸來 [du gui lai]), with downcast eyes (低眉 [di mei]) and a heavy heart (心鬱鬱 [xin yu yu])."

From Chapter 70 (第七 [di qi]○回 [hui]) of Romance of the Three Kingdoms (《三國演義 [san guo yan yi]》): "Fei (飛 [fei]) sent his soldiers (軍人 [jun ren]) to revile [them] in every way (百般 [bai ban]), and He (郃 [he]), who was on the mountain (山上 [shan shang]), also cursed back (亦罵 [yi ma])."
