Source: archive.org: Vagbhata’s Ashtanga Hridaya Samhita (first 5 chapters)Hṛdvyathā (हृद्व्यथा) refers to “throbbing of the heart”, mentioned in verse 4.20-22 of the Aṣṭāṅgahṛdayasaṃhitā (Sūtrasthāna) by Vāgbhaṭa.—Accordingly, “[...] from (suppressed) sperm (result) its outflow, pubic pain, cutaneous swelling, fever, throbbing of the heart [viz., hṛdvyathā], retention of urine, racking in the limbs, swelling of the testicles, gravel, and impotence. Cock, arrack, rice, enema, inunction, bathing, milk prepared with bladder-cleansing (substances, and) lovely women one shall turn to in this case”.
Note: Hṛdvyathā (“throbbing of the heart”) has been translated by sñiṅ-nad (“heart-disease”).
