Source: academia.edu: Tessitori Collection IHolikāprabandha (होलिकाप्रबन्ध) is the name of a work by Kṣamākalyāṇa dealing with Festivals in Jain literature.—The Holikāprabandha (in Sanskrit) is included in the collection of manuscripts at the ‘Vincenzo Joppi’ library, collected by Luigi Pio Tessitori during his visit to Rajasthan between 1914 and 1919.—The purpose of the Holikāprabandha is to promote clearly the Jain vision and practice of Holī against the traditional Hindu customs, which are regarded as unethical, (Cf. 12r12-14; for a modern expression of the same idea and Jain criticisms about Holi see J.e. cort, Jains in the World, oxford, 2001, pp. 180-181). The story of the previous birth of Holikā (see ed.) is not present here.
Jainism is an Indian religion of Dharma whose doctrine revolves around harmlessness (ahimsa) towards every living being. The two major branches (Digambara and Svetambara) of Jainism stimulate self-control (or, shramana, ‘self-reliance’) and spiritual development through a path of peace for the soul to progess to the ultimate goal.
