Source: What is India: Annual Report on Indian Epigraphy (1945-1952)Hire-Hullāl is an archaeologically important site situated in Hangal-taluk (Dharwar district), known for inscriptions regarding the ancient history of India. For example, at Hire-Hullāl there is a damaged slab set up near Hanumān temple which states that Mahāmaṇḍalesvara Bāṇasavergaḍe, Daṇḍanāyaka Anantapālayya was governing Eraḍarunūru, Banavāse-12000 and Halasige-12000, having secured the authority over vaḍḍarāvula suṃka and achchupannāya. Contains the praise of a local chief Jayasiṃga. This inscription belongs to king Tribhuvanamalla (Vikramāditya VI) of the Western Chālukya dynasty.
