何仙姑 [hé xiān gū] [he xian gu]—
A person's name. Birth and death years unknown. Legend has it that he was a native of Yongzhou (永州 [yong zhou]) in the Tang Dynasty (唐朝 [tang chao]), now Lingling County (零陵县 [ling ling xian]), Hunan Province (湖南省 [hu nan sheng]). His name was Qiong (琼 [qiong]). He is one of the Eight Immortals (八仙 [ba xian]), characterized by holding a lotus flower (荷花 [he hua]) in his hand.
何仙姑:人名。生卒年不詳。相傳為唐朝永州(今湖南省零陵縣)人。名瓊。為八仙之一,以手執荷花為特徵。
