和合海 [he he hai]—(Héhéhǎi) — [Term] The monastic community (僧眾 [seng zhong]) is united and harmonious (和合 [he he]) as one taste, likened to the single taste of seawater (海水之一味 [hai shui zhi yi wei]). Furthermore, the monastic community (僧眾 [seng zhong]) is as vast and great as the deep and expansive ocean (海 [hai]), therefore it is compared to the ocean.
和合海—【術語】僧眾和合為一味,譬以海水之一味也。又,僧眾多大如海之深廣,故喻以海也。
[shù yǔ] sēng zhòng hé hé wèi yī wèi, pì yǐ hǎi shuǐ zhī yī wèi yě. yòu, sēng zhòng duō dà rú hǎi zhī shēn guǎng, gù yù yǐ hǎi yě.
