hattīcēṃ maḍēṃ (हत्तीचें मडें).—n sometimes hattīcēṃ prēta n Carcass of an elephant.) A term for an extensive, unwieldy, and unmanageable business or concern; also for any great, laborious, or painful work, or lengthy and tedious job. v pura, ucala. Ex. malā hattīcēṃ maḍēṃ purāyācēṃ āhē. Applied also of a business or work which it is necessary to perform piecemeal or by many persons.
