Source: De Gruyter: A Buddhist Ritual Manual on AgricultureGulugulaśabda (गुलुगुलशब्द) refers to a “rustling sound”, according to the 2nd-century Meghasūtra (“Cloud Sutra”) in those passages which contain ritual instructions.—Accordingly, “[...] Then the prophet of the Law, pure and clad in pure rainment, must recite this ‘Whirlwind’ chapter, ‘The Heart of Snakes’. Then the snakes beginning on the first day, make a rustling sound (gulugulaśabda) and utter sounds of delight. [...]”
