Source: archive.org: Vagbhata’s Ashtanga Hridaya Samhita (first 5 chapters)Guhyavedanā (गुह्यवेदना) refers to “pubic pain”, mentioned in verse 4.20-22 of the Aṣṭāṅgahṛdayasaṃhitā (Sūtrasthāna) by Vāgbhaṭa.—Accordingly, “[...] from (suppressed) sperm (result) its outflow, pubic pain [viz., guhyavedanā], cutaneous swelling, fever, throbbing of the heart, retention of urine, racking in the limbs, swelling of the testicles, gravel, and impotence. Cock, arrack, rice, enema, inunction, bathing, milk prepared with bladder-cleansing (substances, and) lovely women one shall turn to in this case”.
Note: In the second half of the stanza, guhyavedanā (“pubic pain”) has been translated by pho-mthsan na (“penile disease”), whereas the initial ellipsis has been completed as in previous such cases.
