Source: Brill: Śaivism and the Tantric Traditions (architecture)Gṛhavāstu (गृहवास्तु) refers to “residence architecture”, according to the Devyāmata (chapter 105).—Accordingly, [trees for the surrounding gardens]—“[...] Beyond the residence, it is surrounded by a garden and has a surrounding wall. Everything to be done has been altogether declared. Thus ends the chapter on the residence (gṛhavāstu)”.
Vastushastra (वास्तुशास्त्र, vāstuśāstra) refers to the ancient Indian science (shastra) of architecture (vastu), dealing with topics such architecture, sculpture, town-building, fort building and various other constructions.
