Grahaikatvanyāya (ग्रहैकत्वन्याय).—the rule according to which the gender and number of उद्देशपद (uddeśapada) is not necessarily combined along with the action laid down in the विधेयपद (vidheyapada). This is discussed by जैमिनि (jaimini) and शबर (śabara) at MS. III.1.13-15 (opp. of aruṇānyāya or paśvekatvanyāya).
