Source: archive.org: Shiva Purana - English TranslationGobrāhmaṇahita (गोब्राह्मणहित) refers to “one who is conducive to the welfare of Brahmins and cows” and is used to describe Śiva, according to the Śivapurāṇa 2.5.2 (“The Prayer of the gods).—Accordingly, as the Gods eulogized Śiva: “[...] Obeisance to Thee of the form of time, moment etc. Obeisance to Thee who bestows strength on his devotees; obeisance to the multiformed; obeisance to the annihilator of the hosts of Asuras. Obeisance to the lord, conducive to the welfare of Brahmins and cows (gobrāhmaṇahita). Obeisance to the thousand-formed, obeisance to Thee of thousand organs. [...]”.
